Selfie Birthday Card

Hi all, sorry I have been absent from my blog for a while. I was away for a week and just got back. I am now back home and having fun with all my crafting tools.

I am currently hooked to Mama Elephant stamps and I got this Mama Elephant Photo Bomb stamp set and could not get enough of it.

I started working on this card by first stamping the largest stamp set on Neenah solar white card stock. (after trying out various card stock of various weight, this is by far the best results I get with stamping, heat embossing, Copic coloring* and die cutting). In terms of coloring, just let your inner child run free and have fun coloring. I did not spend a lot of time thinking of shading or matching colors. I just went with the flow. As Laura Bassen said it best in one of her videos, coloring should be fun and I totally agree with her. She is one inspirational crafter that I hope to meet one day.

When coloring is complete, I trim the stamped image to it’s borders and adhere it on a 4.25 x 5.5 card stock. I then added the Happy Birthday sentiment on the bottom of the card.

This card was put together under 30 minutes and I had so much fun playing with my Copic markers.

I hope you like this card and let’s keep.intouched via Instagram.

*note: I noticed some of my Copic colors bleed through the paper.
