Penny Black Christmas Cat – Card #1

I am on a roll with my Penny Black Joy to the World stamp set!  I am planning to use the same cat stamp to create two different cards. I love their stamps because they have so many cute characters that you can have fun coloring. Yes, coloring makes me and my inner child very very happy.

Today, I am going to share the first card. I started off by stamping the image with my Versa Fine Onyx Black to get a clear crisp image. I then heat the image with my heat gun. The reason for doing this is because, when I tried coloring with Copic, I smudge the black ink. So to avoid smudging, I heat set it and then start coloring.

Next, I used the negative die cut from another project as the frame of the card. Now the cat looks like it is inside the ornament. I then stamp my Christmas sentiment from Clearly Besotted Laugh Out Loud on vellum and head emboss in gold embossing powder. I adhere the sentiment on top of the ornament, adjusting the height so that the sentiment sits directly below the cat’s feet.

I then added red&white twine on top and bottom of the vellum to make the sentiment pop.

I hope you like this card and do keep.intouched for my next card!
