Birthday Card using Balloon Dies

Today I am creating a birthday card using Simon Says Stamp Balloon dies and Happy Birthday Stamp set. Besides making the normal 5.5×4.25 cards, I also like to look for ways to send different kinds of cards  in different sizes to friends and family, just for that added surprise and fun. When I first placed my order for this die set, I thought the balloon dies were smaller in size. It was not until I open my delivery did I notice I have such as huge balloon die and was think, how to put it to good use.

A good friend of mine is having her birthday in mid November and to prepare a special birthday card for her, I used the biggest balloon die from the die set, cut out a piece using Neenah Solar White card stock and color it using two dye inks – Simon Says Stamp Duckling & Spring Rain. I then stamp a stars in various sizes in gold pigment ink on the top of the card.

Next, I used a separate card stock and ink the “Happy Birthday” sentiment in Versamark Watermark ink, sprinkle Ranger’s Gold embossing powder and set emboss it. I trimmed down the card stock to look like a small banner and adhere it to the card stock, covering the area where these dye inks intersect for a more polished look.

To finish the card, I added a bow using some red & white twine.

Happy Birthday my dear Evelyn and have a great time celebrating your special day, till then, keep.intouched!
