Birthday cards and tags using dies

Today I was in a celebration mood and decided to make some birthday cards using my new Simon Says Birthday dies.

I first started die cutting it on some white card stock. Once done, I added some clear Wink of Stella over the “Happy Birthday” words to add some glitter and shimmer.

Next I used another piece of white card stock and color it with dye inks using an ink blending tool. The dye inks I used are from Simon Says Stamp. I blended the a range of colors together to get a nice combination of vibrant colors. I then trim the die card pieces down to 4 x 5 and adhere the die cut pieces on top of the colored background using a strong craft adhesive spray. This works better for me compared to using glue because it gives a very nice finish to the card, without getting my hands messy and sticky.

I  finish the cards by placing it on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 top folding card.

My next birthday card was using the same Birthday die to make birthday tags. I prepared 4 pieces of round card stock, the size a little bit bigger than the birthday die and color the background using Simon Says die inks. I then adhere the die pieces using the same craft adhesive spray on two of the circle pieces.

I liked how the cards turned out today, it was a fun way of doing some great colorful cards using dies. I am going to be sending these cards out to friends woohoo!

Till then, happy crafting and keep.intouched!
